Version 2.0.3: New "Clock" tool + Colorful Backgrounds.
This is another minor update before the release of Ascension.
In this update, a new tool has been added, exclusive to Time Rush. This tool is the Clock. When used, the clock will slow down the speed of the game suddenly. Then, over the next 10 seconds, it will slowly return to the original game speed. It is worth noting that at the moment, advancing a level will cancel the clock’s effect.
Another (minor) change has been made to Time Rush in this update. Instead of 1 brick being placed per beat like before, the same formula as Survival mode is used, which progressively places more and more bricks on the board the higher level you are on.
Then we have the colorful backgrounds. In the original Gem Miner, each of the modes had their own colored background. Due to some issues with implementation in Gem Miner 2, I couldn’t figure out how to do this. But I have worked it out now, and each mode now has its own background color again. Unfortunately this does not work on mobile, due to issues with rendering shaders on mobile. I am working on a solution for this, however, so mobile is consistent with all the other modes. For now, though, backgrounds on mobile remain their original color.
A few other bugs have been fixed in Time Rush, mainly relating to the music sync:
- Bricks no longer become desynced when pressing restart
- Music now fades into new speed after advancing a level
- Bricks are now timed directly to the music rather than on a separate timer
That’s about it for this update! Ascension mode is being worked on, and progress has been made. It will not be out until 2.1 though.
